Post Molding Operations and Assembly

Nicolet Plastics’ Molders work diligently to assist our customers by developing techniques and methods that reduce costs while producing high-quality products. We have insert molding as one of our cost-saving techniques. We also offer plastic welding, heat staking, and other post-molding operations to add value to your products. Our team can also design and build custom fixtures and tooling for your specific needs.

Why Post Molding Operations And Assembly Is Necessary

Post-molding operations are performed on the plastic part to give it its final shape, finish, and functionality. The post-molding process is essential because it enhances a plastic part’s strength, durability, and aesthetics after molding.

Our post molding operations include plastic welding and hot stamping. While plastic welding is not always necessary, it can improve the strength and durability of a plastic part. Hot stamping is a process that uses a heated die to stamp an image or design onto the plastic part.

Our Post Molding Operations and Assembly

We offer decorating, pad printing, hot stamping, and labeling services. These services are available for all of our parts, regardless of size or complexity. We can provide both functional and decorative printing, and our team will work with you to ensure that your parts meet your specifications. We understand that not all projects are the same, so we offer various options for each service. Whether you need a simple logo or a complex design, we can help you create the perfect part for your project.

Assembly & Sub-Assembly

Our assembly services include simple parts to complex sub-assemblies and final product assembly. Both manual and automated assembly methods are available. You will receive one assembled part instead of several. We design automated processes for high-volume assembly to save you time and money. We use semi-automated and fully automated processes whenever possible.

Secondary Operations

For our secondary operations, we’re fully equipped for CNC machining, plastic welding, and heat staking.

  • CNC machining: Digitalized computers control CNC machines used to automate, monitor, and automate the movement of an industrial machine.
  • Plastic Welding: Plastic welding parts are fusing them together after being heated. The welding joint, sometimes called the joint area, is formed by joining two or more individual thermoplastic materials using heat generation. The plastic edges require melting by applying heat until they merge. Three phases are involved in plastic welding: surface preparation, application of heat and pressure, and cooling.
  • Heat Staking: The heat staking process involves using heat and force to deform plastic material at the set process time to join two or more parts, one of which is plastic. One is partially deformed to bond two plastic pieces to fix the other. It is commonly used in automotive, IT, and consumer appliance industries because it is easy to bond metal to plastic.

Kitting & Packaging Services

Kitting and packaging services are significant post-molding operations that ensure product quality and consistency. Kitting involves grouping all components needed for a particular product or assembly, ensuring all parts are available when needed, and preventing assembly errors.

On the other hand, packaging protects products from damage during shipping and handling and can also be used to provide marketing information or branding.

Benefits of Post Molding Operations and Assembly

Post-molding operations and assembly can add immense value to your molded parts. By performing these operations, you can ensure that your parts are ready for use as soon as they come off the mold, saving time and money in the long run.

Here are some of the benefits of post-molding operations and assembly.

Increased Accuracy

By performing post-molding operations and assembly, you can ensure that your parts are more accurate because these operationsCustom Plastic Injection Molding allow for a more precise finish and less chance of error.

Enhanced Functionality

In many cases, post-molding operations and assembly can also enhance the functionality of your parts. By incorporating these operations into your design, you can ensure that your parts can withstand the rigors of use better.

Increased Durability

Post-molding operations and assembly can also increase the durability of your parts. By incorporating these operations into your design, you can ensure that your parts can withstand the rigors of use better.
